Cane Creek Asparagus
& Company CSA
Each CSA is different. At Cane Creek Asparagus & Company CSA, we have worked hard to consistently maintain our stellar reputation of providing only quality veggies for our members. It is true some will attempt to imitate us, but few will succeed in matching our exacting standards and our level of customer service!
Joining Cane Creek Asparagus & Company CSA provides a way for our family farm to be an economically viable business. While it is true we have a passion for what we do— we have bills to pay just like everyone else.
If you are one who would prefer to eat vegetables from our CSA Box versus performing the labor yourself, please join our CSA now. Mid-season shares may be available!
If these photos of our various CSA Baskets provided throughout the season are making your mouth water and if the journey of local harvest eating is something you want to try, then please check our Frequently Asked Questions, and join our CSA.
We will get back to you right away with a Welcome Email so you know we have you listed as a member of our CSA and have a Farm Share reserved for your family with Cane Creek Asparagus & Company CSA!
Robert & Glenda Ploeger, CSA Farmers
Over fifteen continuous years in the CSA farm business!
No wholesale, no tailgate markets—100% of our effort goes to our CSA Members.
The family who joins a CSA by purchasing a farm share must be one who loves a large variety of veggies and is willing to experiment with new things. The family who loves the idea of healthy eating and getting a surprise box of veggies harvested fresh daily is one who will enjoy the bounty of Cane Creek Asparagus & Company CSA. Take a few minutes to read what our members say!
Know your farmer. Know his practices. Know what he provides his members—by reputation. Look at the vegetables he has actually provided—year after year. This is why Robert and I provide photos of our work. This is our attempt to provide you the information necessary to make an informed decision when it comes to purchasing a CSA Farm Share!
Experience counts in any business!! Cane Creek Asparagus & Company CSA recommends you thoroughly research the farm differences before you sign up to purchase any farm share.
Cane Creek Asparagus & Company CSA begins the harvest season before many other CSA Farms. And our winter squash variety and root crops enable us to continue the season longer each fall. Everyone likes to get paid for as many weeks each year as possible! Remember, we earn our income through our CSA Farm Share sales!
On our Cane Creek Valley asparagus farm, Robert and I have been growing asparagus (white, purple and green varieties) for over twenty years. We have over fifteen years CSA experience as Cane Creek Asparagus & Company growing for families in Fairview, Fletcher, Asheville, Biltmore, Arden and the greater Buncombe County and Henderson County areas of WNC. We are often referred to as "the asparagus farm." As early adapters to internet marketing, our domain name is CaneCreekCSA—a shortened name suitable for internet marketing.
Make no mistake—these are photos of vegetable boxes we have sent out in our CSA Farm Share boxes. No photo shop pictures for this family farm! We love to show off the results our work produces at Cane Creek Asparagus & Company CSA. Robert and I would love to share with you this harvest season. Join our CSA today!
We provide a Vegetable Identification Pages and Recipes and suggestions for preparation of everything we put into your CSA Box at Cane Creek Asparagus & Company CSA. And if you want to freeze any of your vegetables, we tell you how to do that, too, at www.CaneCreekCSA.com. See the Recipe Pages under "F" for Freezing Vegetables.
For the more than fifteen years Robert and I have operated our CSA Farm, we have never required advance payment from our CSA Members! Cane Creek Asparagus & Company CSA only requires your commitment to purchasing our CSA Boxes for the entire local season—and we will earn your trust box by box, vegetable by vegetable. Our CSA farming business is based in trust!
I love to take photos of our work! The following photos are simply random CSA farm share boxes where we dumped out the vegetables and snapped a photo of before repacking it and sending it on its way. These photos were taken over the entire harvest season—which on our farm usually runs from early May through November or December. Note the variety we provide in each box! Note the size of the individual vegetables! We are growing seasonal gourmet vegetables to please our palates and yours!
Of course, each harvest season is different; but with over fifteen years of CSA farming experience, Cane Creek Asparagus & Company CSA has a pretty good idea of how to work with the pests, and weeds, and everything else Nature throws our way!
